Hi, I found a number of threads about this but no suggested solution seems to work for me.

I installed the spice-guest-tools and all windows 11 updates but the resolution of the vm does not automatically adjust its resolution when I change the window size.

I also tried changing the biostype from OVMF (UEFI) to SeaBIOS as this was suggested in another thread, this made Windows refuse to boot or reinstall.

I also notice clipboard sharing between host and guest is not working, however the spice service is installed and runnig;

Below is a view of the 'Hardware' tab of this vm

Dynamic resolution based on window size does work for any linux vm I have. And it seems I have the same issue with Windows 10 guests, even after installing the spice and qemu guest tools.

In below image you can see the display adapter and display show as QEMU annd virtuo GPU. I don't get why the resolution doesn't automatically change

For anyone wondering, I eventually fixed it after reinstalling the virtuo-win-0.1.240 drivers for the tenth time. As well as changing the display to "Spice (qxl)"

@yusisushi Hey, I am having the same problems with my display settings being fixed, and i can't change the display settings in when running Windows 11 with noVNC. Do you have step by step instructions? Thanks!

@pk206 How wedded to noVNC are you?

Asking because the dynamic resolution thing seems to be mostly for the "SPICE" console type, rather than the noVNC one.

If you're ok with trying out the SPICE thing though, then you pretty much just need to install a spice client on your pc, change the display type to spice in the VM settings, and install the QEMU Guest Agent in the VM.

For the spice client, "virt-viewer" works well for Linux systems and seems to be available for Windows: https://virt-manager.org/download

I am very new to Proxmox.

When i run Parsec remote gaming, the screen resolution is fixed at 1200 x 800 and Windows 11 Pro will not let me change it. So that is the problem i'm running into.

Thank you for your help and input. I might give that a try. But I might just run remote gaming on baremetal instead.

Also, great job on figuring out a work around for your setup!!

Ahhh. Pretty sure I've seen people mentioning Parsec in the forums here before. Guessing you've already done a search for that and looked through the results?

Hi pk206,

I should note I used SPICE display instead of NoVNC viewer as justinclift mentioned. I currently don't have a W11 vm running anymore but I could spin one up and re-test the setup for you if using SPICE still doesn't fix it for you.
