Hello Guys,

I'm having an issue while backing up VM to a mnt drive.

See error bellow:

cannot remove directory for /mnt/backup/tobackup/dump/vzdump-qemu-102-2021_09_16-12_53_20.tmp: Directory not empty at /usr/share/perl5/PVE/VZDump.pm line 1067.
ERROR: Backup of VM 102 failed - unable to rename '/mnt/backup/tobackup/dump/vzdump-qemu-102-2021_09_16-12_53_20.vma.dat' to '/mnt/backup/tobackup/dump/vzdump-qemu-102-2021_09_16-12_53_20.vma.zst'

INFO: Backup job finished with errors

Any idea would be appreciated?

Hi,
Could you post:

• pveversion -v
• The entire task log for the backup

What file system is the mounted drive using?
Is it a local storage or network storage?

Note also that the Proxmox Backup subforum is intended for questions about Proxmox Backup Server [1]. If you have issues with Proxmox VE tools (e.g. vzdump), it's best to post these in the appropriate Proxmox VE subforum.

Hello Dylanw,

Version we are using 7-0-8 and 6.4-4. We have mounted on host a CEPH storage from our cloud storage in /mnt/backup, our local storage has no issues storing backups there, its just when we try to copy or send backups there in CEPH NFS outside storage that is causing this issue.

Could you post the entire contents of the backup task log?
It seems like a permissions issue on the NFS anyway. Could you also post the output of: getfacl /mnt/backup/tobackup/dump?

Thanks we have resolve the issue, it was CEPH with permissions.
