Hi All,

Recently we were trying to setup F5 BIG IP VE edition on our Proxmox cluster purely for L2 optimization on some links. We created vm with two interfaces. each interface attached to Linux bridge like this.
router1 -> f5(on proxmox) - > router2
  • eno1 -> vmbr1 (router1 to proxmox)
  • eno2 - vmbr2 (proxmox to router2)
While deploying we face issues that remote party learning the Proxmox physical NIC mac address than the MAC assigned by Linux bridge to F5 vm. In our case, to deploy in transparent mode, both router1 and router2 should see the F5 VM mac address created by Linux bridge

Is it possible to achieve this ?

Possible to deploy L2 device that working transparently on virtual machine without doing any PCI Pass-through ?

u already mentioned that your router see the F5 mac address. what is your problem then?

can u ping from router1 to eno1 and router2 to eno2?
send your config! network,vm, physical net
