Debian Grub no ProxMox text

Hi,

I will go straight to the point. I have a ProxMox 4.4 over Debian Jessie installation, I followed the tutorial from ProxMox wiki.This installation was made inside VirtualBox and everything went fine I have a GRUB bootscreen like this:



I followed the same tutorial on my dedicated server. I noticed I only see the default Debian Jessie boot options. Could this mean that ProxMox is not installed as it should be?

The reason I want to know this is to understand if the problems that I have/had now, are related to this.

Yes.

Maybe you can try to reinstall Proxmox VE? What about booting and running

dpkg -l | grep -c pve

I tried the code and the result was

0

I am now reinstalling Debian and ProxMox. I will keep this thread up to date about the reinstall.

That implies that you do not have any Proxmox VE package installed, so ... just install the packages.

Why don't you bother to install Jessie and then Proxmox VE if you don't mind me asking?

I did the installation completly again and now it is working.
The reason for Debian is that I need encryption, what I did was encrypt my partitions in Debian setup because there is no encryption options in ProxMox 4.4 setup.

Technically, you did it once (but correctly), but yes. Encryption is one big step. You can also rebuilt your installed Proxmox VE to do this, but you need at least a rescue disk.
