CPU type `host` is significantly SLOWER than `x86-64-v2-AES`

* I did not try this, but you should be able to go to Windows features and uncheck
- Microsoft Defender Application Guard
- Virtual machine Platform
- Windows Hypervisor Platform
disabling these things may impact abillity to use msstore, windows hello, microsoft accounts, AAD join, etc - bsically anything that uses a protected path.... if one doesn't use those things, great, but just know 'making windows lighter' isn't always a good thing :)

This is one of those threads that I feel very fortunate it was at the top of the heap when I logged in. I have not yet created a Windows VM on my PVE server but it is on the todo list.

There are 14 or so threads that are sticky there should be another one titled "Good to know PVE gotchas" with this as the first entry.

It works and I have not noticed much difference when using a CPU type similar to the host instead of using host. I don't know what else to tell you, sorry.
That's exactly what I was wondering about. Thanks!

I'm not sure I'm actually in the best position to experiment with these settings. I'm not seeing the huge CPU over-utilization that others are reporting in this thread.

I have a 12th-gen i7-12700T, so I suspect that I'm not having nearly the same level of mitigations forced on me as certain older CPUs are.
