Ceph (Dedicated External Nodes)

I am getting ready now to setup 3 x Dedicated Ceph Nodes that will be used for Proxmox 5.0. I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to install it and manage it long term? I am familiar with ceph-deploy, and I have installations of Ceph where I am doing Hyper-converged. One of my thoughts was to install a 3-node Proxmox cluster and just use Proxmox's easy GUI to get the nodes up and running, and the cluster wouldn't really be used to host VM's but would run Proxmox for ease of managing Ceph.

Just curious to what are peoples thoughts on this?

Proxmox install only for Ceph management? Was it a successful round? Or U use another ceph management solution?

Sorry for the delay, I added the 3 Ceph nodes into my cluster and it works great. I just ensure that I don't put any VMs on those nodes as I want to keep them dedicated for Ceph tasks. I was going to use Croit but didn't want to spend the money and it relies upon DHCP for Croit to work.

Did you install and user Proxmox separate per nodes or in HA mode?

I actually installed the nodes into the same cluster as the others, so that I could manage and create the storage from the GUI and a single interface.
