Hello,

i'm having an issue with my automatic script backing up 15 VMs in the same time.
So i tried to specifically backup only one, so i got this message and i don't understand why it's blocking:

Code:
root@pve:~# vzdump 100 --node pve --storage backupStorage --remove 0 --mode snapshot --compress zstd
INFO: starting new backup job: vzdump 100 --node pve --mode snapshot --remove 0 --storage backupStorage --compress zstd

i share folders whith my container and it worked since 2 month until yersteday.
Moreover, it blocks the 4 first VMs and the other ones are being backup then : i'm rellay lost and i don't understand that.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I am having the same issue with one of my containers that is using shared storage. It worked fine until a couple of days ago. I suspect an update broke something? I am using subscription service.

I’ve updated my system today as well. I’m getting the same error from vzdump from containers with storage pass through:
unable to parse volume ID

Additionally the vzdump zfs snapshots are generated, that can't be deleted. They show only on Web UI, not via zfs list -t snapshot.
The Containers are being left in locked state, which can be unlocked again with pct unlock <ID>.

Edit: 1606123233832.png

Edit2: The Containers can be backed up, if they are shut down. So the backup mode Snapshot is broken.

Edit3: The way you can delete those "phantom" zfs snapshots is following:
They are being named as "vzdump", so check if you indeed don't have that snapshots with:
Code:
zfs list -t snapshot | grep vzdump
If not, create a new snapshot of that container disk, in my case the container have the ID 101:
Code:
zfs snapshot rpool/Containers/subvol-101-disk-0@vzdump
Remove the lock, if any:
Code:
pct unlock 101
And finally you can delete this snapshots in the Web UI.

Edit4: Another bug in the Web UI, the Web UI must check if the snapshot is indeed created, before showing it on Web UI and letting that in a phantom state.

Edit5: The workaround to the initial problem is downgrading the package:
Code:
apt install pve-container=3.2-2
