I have a node with some VM in production that I can not turn off, I had a backup on hold, certainly because the external storage (connected in cifs) stopped responding, I killed the backup by following the post https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/proxmox-backup-wont-stop.23219/

This is the ps command:
Code:
ps -ef | grep vzdump
root     10951  7846  0 12:19 pts/2    00:00:00 grep vzdump
root     20878     1  0 Oct20 ?        00:00:00 task UPID:proxmox07:0000518E:9B1036B9:5BCA7002:vzdump::root@pam:
If i "kill -9 20878" nothing happens and the GUI not respond correctly, i see the backup task in execution (image 001.png) and communication failure(0) (002.png).
I tried to restart pveproxy but nothing happens, what can I do without having to turn off the VMs?

Have you tried:
service pveproxy restart

and

service pvedaemon restart

Then do ctrl +f5 with your browser and try to login again

I have tried to restart pveproxy and pvestatd without succes,i have not tried to restart pvedaemon, will something happen to the VMs? some are in production

Code:
/etc/init.d/pvedaemon restart
Starting PVE Daemon: pvedaemonunable to create socket - IO::Socket::INET: Address already in use
 (warning).

I'm sorry, I never had that error. Maybe you can find something on the forums or someone else can help you further.
