[SOLVED] Cannot install Windows 2012 r2 Server, Error 0004

Good afternoon everyone!

I am trying to install Windows 2012 r2 Server from a .iso but once launching it up I get this in the _Console:

I followed this guide..

• During the creation of the VM I put in Windows ISO image in CD/DVD tab (~4.22 GB .iso).
• I selected VIRTIO as Bus/Device.
• I set VirtIO as model in Network tab.
• After I created the VM I added a CD/DVD disc image in the Hardware tab, I put in this .ISO: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Windows_VirtIO_Drivers#Packaged_sets_of_drivers (stable release).

Please let me know what I did wrong!

What are the devicenames of your CD/DVD drives (ide0, ide2)? Can you swap the images? So if ide0 is now used for VIRTIO drivers and ide2 for the Windows ISO, swap them and try again. What is your bootorder? If you only have the Windows ISO "mounted", will it boot? (you can't finish installation, but at least you know for sure your ISO is bootable).

Thank you for the great suggestions, I actually went quite for a few days as I was migrating my install to solve a couple of issues.

This boot issue is no longer occuring since VT-x is now enabled!
