I’ve got a Supermicro X9DRi-LN4F+ with 256GB ram and two intel xeon e5 2670 2.6ghz. I hi tried installing the latest version but kept getting losing connectivity to my monitor immediately after trying to install. I got the ISO image for the 7.4 release and was able to install just fine. I wasn’t able to connect to the GUI with the IP address it gave me (yes I had the https:// and the port), I tried using nano to fix it, to no avail. I don’t understand why it takes me 8 hours to try and troubleshoot a freaking installer just to get this up and running. Is there anyone that can give me some ideas on how to fix this? I’m literally just trying to follow a YouTube tutorial on how to make a Minecraft server hosted on top of proxmox lol.

It’s plugged in via Ethernet cable so idk why it’s not grabbing the right info from the gateway/router. If I wasn’t already bald I’d be pulling my hair out, this is crazy

Hi!

Do you mean that you got a blank screen or what did exactly happen? Did this happen during installation or on first boot?

What is the network configuration you set up during installation? What is the router's and PVE host's IP address? It's recommended to setup a PVE host statically, but if you set it up with DHCP: Does your router's DHCP server recognize/list the PVE host?

I’m lowkey embarrassed and trying to figure out how to delete this LOL. It was a long day of troubleshooting before I realized I was plugged into the idrac/management port and not the Ethernet port, so I probably had it right the first 10 times I changed the networking settings but there was no way for it to work without actually being plugged in to the right port. Sorry for the rant, I had a good nights sleep and I’m better now lol

That would have been my first guess as this can happen to anyone and still happens all the time. I normally plug in EVERY NIC so that it will not happen again.
