Edit: I just tested it on our polygon for curiosity, there was no immediate impact on running VM.
- Immediate, after stopping pvestad, I stopped machine, the machine was reported still as running, the second running machine continues without issues
- the whole node in about two minutes go "grey as not know state", but still operable from all nodes

- No ha triggered, no fencing and migration to another node.
- I was able to operate machines normally (Start / Stop)
- After starting pvestad, machines reported correctly, and node is back to "green" status.
That is a surprising impact. May I ask what HW you are on?The issue I am encountering it as pvestatd is running aggressivley lxc-info aganist all me LXC containers makes a huge read from mounted dirs like "/proc/ and "/sys" and this do a huge load on LXCFS .
XY problem... IMHO you should ask / investigate why it you are suffering from that load from pvestatd instead of asking how to disable it, which can't be done while keeping PVE working as expected.VictorSTS read above to know why I want to disable it
