[SOLVED] Boot drive disappeared

I noticed my install of proxmox not working once I got the iDRAC 6 virtual console to work. I rebooted the server, and the boot drive is gone. I booted into GParted, and the boot device doesn't show up there either. For specs I am running my host from a samsung 256GB usb in the internal motherboard usb port.

Boot drive is completely unrecognizable on any machine. At this point is there anything that can be done other than a fresh install?

you mean you can't boot - or bios or fdisk/gdik won't detect it ?

BIOS/UEFI/GParted/Macrium/Windows will not detect it, save for the windows device manager saying "unknown usb device (set address failed)".

Is this a USB flash drive or an (enterprise) SSD connected via USB. The former tends to be eaten by Proxmox due to many little writes, cheap flash memory and no wear leveling. Since it does not show up anymore, it might just be dead.

I have decided to rebuild everything from scratch as it is only a test environment anyway, but I will need help with reattaching VHDs once my new server is built, and I begin migration. I did however, manage to recover my pbs, but none of the other VMs (Home Assistant, pfSense, Zabbix) would rebuild using the same method.
