A free hosting controlpanel (used to be Cobalt).
They offer a ISO, but I can't find a way to install it easy on a openvz container...
An easy to deploy version would be great when selling vps containers.

it looks like they have their own platform (commercial) to run virtual machines.

That program (Aventurin) is just Openvz with a interface as I understand.

so whats the problem then? they offer a openvz template, so just get it!
as far as I see they offer it for free for aventurin customers...

Where do you see its a free template?

They offer a lot, but not much is free ;)

And indeed openvz:
http://www.aventurin.net/index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=6&cntnt01returnid=15

The only thing free as far as I can tell is the ISO.

The web page tells: "The OS template for BlueOnyx is available free of charge for Aventurin{e} clients."
http://www.blueonyx.it/index.php?page=downloads

If you want to use their software, just ask them if its free or not or how much it will cost - we simply does not know this software in detail.

I'm not an Aventurin client, nor do I plan on switching from PMVE to Aventurin so its not free.

BlueOnyx is opensource:

So I figured it would be nice to have a Virtual appliance with it,

ok, but it would be hard to convince them that they should support a competitor product. in the ideal world the application vendor should provide and support the appliance - but did you ask them already?

I didn't realise you needed their support. I guess that would be hard to get indeed.

I mailed them yesterday, but their communication is really bad.
Before I discovered PMVE I thought hard about buying Aventurin. I mailed them several times but never got an answer. I then called to Germany and was told he was just in the process answering my email...never got an answer.

If I should receive a reply I'll let you know.
Thanks.

take a look here: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/BlueOnyx and if you think this makes sense you can offer commercial support for such a setup, just contact martin@proxmox.com if you want to go this way.

Okay, thanks Tom!

The templates they use are in plain sight on their repository...

http://updates.aventurin.net/pub/Aventurin/COMMON/RPMS/

I have it running inside a Proxmox/OpenVZ install right now...

Here are the complete instructions (SSH into your Debian head)...

cd /tmp
wget http://updates.aventurin.net/pub/Aventurin/COMMON/RPMS/ostemplate-blueonyx-5.3-20090610.i386.rpm
apt-get install rpm
rpm2cpio ostemplate-blueonyx-5.3-20090610.i386.rpm | cpio -vid
mv ./etc/vz/dists/* /etc/vz/dists/
mv ./vz/template/cache/* /var/lib/vz/template/cache/
rm etc vz -Rf

Now the template show up in Proxmox... create a machine, then edit it to turn on quotas, start it and have fun!

very bad

blueone of proxmox has a iso include centos , instal very easy . why dont Solaricspeed support free :D
Blueone is good for servlet, java not for hosting commerical service . DTC is one that you need if you want a service hosting include reseller .
Opensource for commercial is vey good , but i havent see who get big success with oss . Google pulish based-linux os support cloud computing , which is a big change for oss ??

Hi,

I have it also running on my ProxBox.. I like this hosting controlpanel. Did use to work with it in the 90ties :) Now its on my ProxBox as a OpenVZ :) It has a logical and good overview. More people using this ? :D

pls ask the blueonyx people if they like these efforts to run their software on Proxmox VE.

if they do not like these activities I just suggest we remove all links and howtos to their project.?
