As I got aware, Avast Core Security for Linux is EOL. As I can see, the successor is Avast Business Antivirus for Linux and seem to have similar pricing. Does the setting avast = 1 still also support the new scan module of the new scanner (did anyone test that already) or are there adjustments required?

AFAIR the last time I tried setting it up it was already Avast Business AV for linux ...
in any case does it still use the 'scan' binary to do the scanning?
then everything should continue to work.

That's my question to the Proxmox team. I didn't test it out yet, as I still have a valid license for the old product, but once it needs to be renewed, I would ensure, that avast is still available to use just by settings avast to true.

Probably better ask the Avast support channels?

Response from Avast (translated in english via DeepL):

Actually, it's just a renaming, the product is the same. There have been some changes in licensing and there are more repos that can be used based on the Linux distribution etc., but the functionality of Avast Core Security should be available in Avast Business Antivirus for Linux, so software is backwards compatible.
