Hello,
i have set a backup job to backup all my ves at 6.15 every morning in a directory located in /home/vz/backup.
In the webadmin i set the following things.
Under "Storage"
Storage Name VeBackup
Directory: /home/vz/backup
Enable: Yes
Shared: No
Content: VZDump Backups

Under "Backup"

Cluster Node: Host
Storage: VeBackup (dir)
Day of Week: All days
Start time: 6:15
Mode: Snapshot
Compress files: Yes
Include all Vm's: Yes

root user has all rights on the /home/vz/backup folder. The backup is not happening.
Maybe someone knows where the problem is :)

any hints in the syslog? (var/log/syslog)

Hello,
that is in the syslog
Sep 3 16:58:01 s15388448 /usr/sbin/cron[6272]: (*system*vzdump) RELOAD (/etc/cron.d/vzdump)
Sep 3 16:58:01 s15388448 /USR/SBIN/CRON[12967]: (root) CMD (vzdump --quiet --snapshot --storage VeBackup --mailto mail@me --all)

So the job is started. Any hind in the backup log (or mail)? If not, try to execute above command on the command line to see whats wrong.

Hello,
can you tell me where the log or mail is located? I searched my system bu could not find anything. I executed the command but nothing happend no message or anything.

why was lvm2 missing, did you not use our installer?

you SHOULD mention this in the beginning ...

the wiki page tells you to go for lvm based partitioning so if you follow this howto lvm2 will be there.
