Anyone have experience with external GPU over SFF-8654?

I'm just curious if anyone can share any experience about external PCIe devices (particularly GPU) over SFF-8654?

My Asrock Rack ROMED8 2-T only has full x16 slots and many GPUs such as the Intel ARC B50 are electrical x8.
In addition, a duo card frees up 2 slots, effectively losing 32 lanes for a single X8 card.

My goal/plan/hope is to use bifurcation x8x8 to an external enclosure with something like this: link: ebay_example



I hope someone has experience with resetting after VM/host reboots and what the experiences are in general?

It's no different from an eGPU using oculink.

With x16 split into x4x4x4x4, an A2000 and NVMe x3 also work via x4 connections. I was also able to use an RX 9070 XT via x16 and run an A2000 via x4.

If the lanes are coming from the CPU, shouldn't it be the same?

*I'm not sure about the B50 Pro.

It's not an Intel Arc B Pro, but it performed nearly as well on the CPU lane M.2 (PCIe Gen4 x4) with an Intel Arc b580.
Rebar is disabled in Intel Driver Software, but it's enabled in GPU-Z.

Regardless of the connection method, I believe it will work if it's a CPU lane.
