Add extra ip to VPS

I'm probably not woken up enough but I don't seem to be able to add an extra ip to my centos vps (container).

I created an ifcfg-venet0:1 but I get an error when restarting the network..

How should I add an extra ip??

just add a second IP (at the web interface), see screenshot.

Mmmm, just tried it.. I added the ip according to the screenshot and clicked on save but it looks like it doesn't save the ip..

Do you use the latest version? I remember this bug in one of the very first beta releases.

please check your installation, see the download page for instructions.

Hi, 100% sure it's the latest since I downloaded and burned the image last friday.

the cd image does not contain the latest packages, did you run apt-get to get the latest packages?

Followed the steps because I thought it couldn't hurt. I can't reproduce the earlier error anymore but still unable to add extra ip's. It doesn't save the ip's when I click save..

what do you get here?

dpkg-query -l pve-manager

(it should display pve-manager 0.9-5)

so you run a Proxmox VE cluster?

Got the right version installed, but found a workaround. I'm running the cluster indeed. When I migrate the vps to the master I can add the ip's. When after that I migrate them back to the node it keeps the ip's. But adding them directly when the vps is on the node doesn't work like i mentioned.

ok, I can confirm this. doing this on the master works. if the container is on a node, it does not work also here - I filed a bug, we will correct it for the upcoming release candidate.

traceroute form Virtual Machine dont work well

Hi, i have Proxmox 1.1 with two Virtual Machine and both work.

But the problem that i have is when i do a traceroute from VM2 to VM1 the trace is very very fast, but the traceroute from VM1 to VM2 take long time to answer where can be the problem ?

The ping time is 0.013 ms in both cases - so what exactly is slow? I guess you use 'traceroute -n' ?

Yes you are right i dont explain very well and both result was the same, i will try to explain with words.

If i write a ping command and after that i push the "Enter" in the keyboard the both VM answer in less than a second and i can see on the screen

If i write a traceroute command from VM1 to VM2 and i push the "Enter" in the keyboard the answer was in less than a second and i can see on the screen

But the problem is:
If i write the traceroute from VM2 to VM1 and i push the "Enter" in the keyboard the answer appers in the screen at less 20 seconds later with the same result as you can see in the post that you answer.

And the real problem is this.
In VM1 i have PHP
In VM2 i have MySQL
When i do a mysql query from PHP it need 20 seconds to response.

But in VM3 i have PHP + MySQL and the same query need 0.1 seconds to response.

And i dont know why, i think the problem is because the VM1 has a external IP address, and the VM2 has a internal IP address
