Hi there,

we just found spice and realized that its a fantastic improvement to the speed of remote work.

we activated it already without any issues.
but, when we try to connect directly to the device without being logged into pve-webgui we were unable to do so.
we also did not find any tutorial explaining how to archive that.

is that just because we didn't find it so far or is it not planned to use spice with a spice viwer (like remote viewer) simmilar use to rdp or vnc?

You need to login into PVE to create a ticket[1] but you can do this bash script

https://git.proxmox.com/?p=pve-manager.git;a=blob_plain;f=spice-example-sh;hb=HEAD

you can read our wiki for more information about spice

So basically the answer is no, its not possible and thats the reason why i didn't find anything. :)

It is not possible to use spice viewer like RDP and hand out files / connection details as a login to a client and his own vm.

(and it is also not possible to give proxmox users only permission to one vm https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/limit-users-to-certain-vms.27819/)

so spice is awesome and supports multi display and is damn fast, but only for admins :D

i hope there will soon be another way to allow user to use a spice connection not only with a ticket managed by pve :)
