Hi Team,

currently i am facing a question which is somehow hard to understand for me.

Maybe you guys can push me to the next level of understanding ;-)

Last days we configured 2x PVE and a QDevice where the PVEs facing a NetAPP SAN Storage via FC.
The Storage is connected via two times fc facing a fc san switch and multipath is configured before we created a lvm storage which should be mentioned as shared.

Everything is running fine, both pves can connect to both luns provided to us, but if we go deeper for the question "shared" storage we will face for "vgs" the following output:
Code:
root@pve01:~# vgs
  VG #PV #LV #SN Attr VSize VFree
  itstorage01-vg 1 8 0 wz--n- <3.00t 2.79t
  itstorage02-vg 1 5 0 wz--n- <3.00t 2.32t
  pve 1 3 0 wz--n- <446.07g 16.00g
This somehow makes me "think" about the missing "s" for shared, issnt it needed or did i configure something wrong? Which steps did i miss ?

I am afraid of how to fix this now due to the reason there are few machines already running on both storages.

Best regards,
Alfonso

PVE does not use the "clustered" flavor of LVM, so you will never see "s" attribute.

The "shared" concept is at PVE layer, not LVM. Assuming everything else is configured properly, you are good to continue with your PVE adventure.

And there is no option to enable PVE or to have it presented like that right? i think you told me that already in the last topic i created @bbgeek17 ;-)
No. Not if you are using standard PVE packages and supported PVE methods.

We don't use LVM at Blockbridge, so I haven't looked into it in detail. It may be possible for someone adventurous to configure things that way, but I suspect the PVE developers considered this early on and decided it wasn't worth pursuing.
