Hi, just installed my 2nd proxmox server, but Im in doubt whether i should cluster them or not as manual says after doing that the names and mainly IPs cant be changed. Im planning on adding 40Gb ethernet. Already got the cards, just missing cable. Will it be problematic to put them in after clustering? Surely adding them to the bridge or just reassigning IP from one card to another cant be such a big deal as long as the nodes can be reached on same IP even thru different interface.
Any advice on that? No guessing... Thank You!

Go ahead with clustering. Networks can be changed on the fly, provided you have installed ifupdown2 package

Whilst this is not a direct answer to your question, you can run 2 or more VMs within Proxmox, each running proxmox. From there you can test things like installing ifupdown on your virtualised cluster, change IP addresses and see how its affected.

As your'e virtualising a cluster, you can also take a snapshot/backup prior to any changes so that you can roll back should something fail.
