Implement Proxmox on a Dell PowerEdge R7625 and connect to HPE Synergy HD6500 storage using the 1GbE RJ-45 ports for NAS.

Please find the attached image for reference

Connectivity:

  • Dell PowerEdge R7625 has a 1 Gbps Ethernet (1 GBE) port.
  • HPE Synergy HD6500 also has 1 GBE RJ-45 ports.
  • Proxmox is hosted in dell R7625, Connected Storage is HD6500.

  • 1GbE connectivity between Dell R7625 (Proxmox Hosted) and HPE Synergy 6500 (NAS Storage) will work for iSCSI and NAS protocols?
  • Does the HPE Synergy 6500 support NFS or SMB sharing over a 1GbE connection?
  • Does the HPE Synergy 6500 support iSCSI target services over a 1GbE connection?
  • Has an iSCSI target been configured on the storage, and is it reachable from Proxmox?
  • Does Proxmox have access permissions to the iSCSI target?
  • Is the shared folder accessible from Proxmox using the correct permissions?
  • Will 1GbE be sufficient for your storage workload, or is 10GbE or higher needed?

whether my planned architecture will work or not? If, it works kindly provide document or article it will help my environment .

yes

You should consult the specifications for HPE Synergy 6500, or contact HPE. Many storage vendors monetize the functionality and you may need a special license for each protocol.

It appears that it does. If you want an exact answer - contact HPE , or inquire in their forum.
Has an iSCSI target been configured on the storage, and is it reachable from Proxmox?
If the administrator properly configures the storage and establishes appropriate PVE configuration, the answer will be "yes"
  • Does Proxmox have access permissions to the iSCSI target?
If the administrator properly configures the iSCSI Target then PVE will have access
  • Is the shared folder accessible from Proxmox using the correct permissions?
If the administrator properly configures access to shared folder then PVE will have access
Will 1GbE be sufficient for your storage workload, or is 10GbE or higher needed?
Even if it is a homelab 1GbE is likely not going to be satisfactory. At the same time, may be its ok for you.
