Hello,
thought I'd post my findings as I have no clue whatsoever why this happened.
I eventually found the solution through google and a bit of trial and error.
Problem:
After apt -y upgrade the systemd service sshd.service shows an error starting and sshd is non-functional.
Manually running...
Hello folks,
I just installed Proxmox VE 8.2.4 on 2 machines and set them in a cluster:
Machine 1: EXT4 configuration - Mini pc: 4 x Intel(R) Celeron(R) J4125 CPU @ 2.00GHz (1 Socket | 8GB RAM | SSD M2 240GB + SATA3 480GB in EXT4 configuration

Hi everyone,
I have a Proxmox setup which automatically imports the default created ZFS root pool and makes it available as /rpool. That works because a cachefile is used and there's a systemd service importing all pools part of that cachefile.
Though, I have one additional pool which I would...

I googled a lot, and, there are so many scattered solutions that are poorly explained because everyone assumes that you are a linux expert.
The problem
Some of the inconveniences that I had, with lxc running with vpn network interface, is that you cannot access your service because you...
Hi, dear,
I recently faced a big problem in a Proxmox 8 cluster. It all started when a Windows VM wouldn't start and displayed the following error in the task log: TASK ERROR: timeout waiting on systemd
In some research on Proxmox forums, some reported that restarting the host solved the...
Hi,
I've created a brand new Debian 12 LXC from the official template on my Proxmox 8 server. I've installed logcheck on the LXC as I usually do. Thanks to that I've noticed that APT "cron" tasks are having some problem with systemd-networkd-wait-online. I've quoted "cron" because I think those...
Hello all,
I run PVE 7.4-3 and use LXC containers.
All containers show the systemd-service sys-kernel-config.mount as failed. They show no problems in practice, so I wonder if I should just diable this service.
Any thoughts ?

We ran into a very nasty issue a few days ago.
Background:
Systemd generates ridiculously long interface names (see https://manpages.debian.org/bookworm/udev/systemd.link.5.en.html and referenced here https://wiki.debian.org/NetworkInterfaceNames#CUSTOM_SCHEMES_USING_.LINK_FILES) like...

Hello - we have a number of standalone PVE and also some clusters - all running various different versions of PVE 7
pve-manager/7.3-4/d69b70d4
pve-manager/7.2-11/b76d3178
would be 2 examples.
Last night after pveupdate ran all the systems are pretty locked up with sbin/init churning through...
My PHP-FPM services are constantly crashing in my Containers. The PHP and syslogs aren't giving much insight, so I'm looking to enable core dumps inside the container itself. The Enable Core Dump systemd instructions on the wiki work fine for the host, but I need to produce and grab the core...
Hello there,
I've moved my SR-IOV start-up script out of a systemd unit and into a shell script invoked by a systemd unit after multi-user.target is reached. I did this as, at least on the 5.19 kernel, pve-guests.service seems to reset my NIC, or at least does something that causes SR-IOV to be...
When I backup my containers and vms, I see the following warning message

Hi,
I'm a bit of a newbie to Proxmox, so please be patient. I'm trying to install an Ubuntu VM, but after handing on a black screen with a blinking cursor for 5 minutes, I have this error.
I do get to the GNU GRUB bootloader where I select "Try or Install Ubuntu". But then the above happens...

So I've been struggling with this for a few hours and everything I've found online leads to huge arguments about how systemd (back in 2016?) changed a default to kill all user processes on logout. Well that sounds ok, but it kills things like screen. screen has been used for many many years...

I have 2 VMs set to auto start. I created a systemd service to check when both VMs are stopped to shutdown the proxmox server. The problem is that I didn't add a...
Hi all,
I have a question about the current available LXC container template for Gentoo.
The container is based on the 'init.d' system where I rather want to use 'systemd', also is the container slightly outdated (march-2020).
Is there a build script or method to build a 'fresh' gentoo LXC...
