Hello,
my intention is to use a HP Ultrium tape in a Ubuntu 18.04 container, running on a Proxmox VE 6.0.4.
During the boot process the system recognizes the scsi controller and the tape, here is the output of dmesg:

All the physical disks are connected to a regular SATA port on the motherboard.
Which option to is the best to choose when creating a new VM?

I've created a new VM with SCSI controller drive as know SCSI is faster and better then IDE and SATA and selected the 2nd drive attached the server /dev/sdb instead of /dev/sda then loaded the server to install Windows server 2016 however on initial setup the windows can't locate and load the...
It should be possible to set a virtual disk drive to be backed by an SSD/Flash device. Virtio SCSI with SCSI, VirtIO and SATA drives should support this.
Virtual box supports this since 2014, when can we expect this to happen in PVE?
According to the upstream sources this should be possible...
Hello, first time here but looking for some help.
I have the latest proxmox and I'm trying to add a RD1000 tape drive to it so that windows server 2016 can see it as a tape drive, not just a disk. I can get windows server 2016 to see it as a disk but that creates problems, it doesn't allow the...
Hello everyone,

I've read several threads about different problems with Windows server migrations and am hoping to get pointers here. I'm pretty sure my problems are directly related to hard drive choices as I'm getting the bluescreen STOP 0X0000007B error mentioned in these forums as well as Microsoft Technet...
Hello! I just migrated from a Fedora/KVM setup to ProxMox and It was a painless setup. I did have tiny bit of trouble getting past "code 43" with NVidia. (On Fedora I COULD NOT use q35, in ProxMox, I HAD TO, and I also NEEDED the pci=1 line). But I got that resolved. The last piece of hardware I...
