I am running the script from IT Niels to update my LetsEncrypt certs. I successfully obtained certs before, but now ran into this cryptic error:

I upgraded from 4.4 to 5.2 recently and noticed my /var/lib/vz ext4 filesystem didn't survive the upgrade. Is this a known issue with Debian 9 or something? On 4.4 this system was rebooted, and fsck'd, practically every weekend for either Proxmox or SAN upgrades so I'm wondering if the error is...
Environment & Goal
Clean fresh install of Proxmox 5.2 in the sole SSD in the machine \dev\sda.
Shut down machine added a second SSD. and booted.
used shell to create partition on /dev/sdb
In proxmox I see

We updated VE 5.1 to 5.2 because we wanted to use Samba storage.
We use a Proxmox / Ceph cluster.
The upgrade went as expected.
But configuring the store is a bit problematic.
We tried to add it within the GUI and we got this error:
