Hello,
I have old openvz ve's (base os centos 5 and 6 - don't ask). What is the best way to move these to lxc (or anything else you recommend). They are located on a server running openvz (not proxmox). Is there a way to transfer the (/vz/private/ve_number) and conver to lxc?
Thanks in advance.
It is my understanding that virsh, etc. do not work with proxmox but instead one should only use the qm tools.
Is there a way with qm or other tools to learn the IP of a kvm server on my proxmox node?
Thanks!
After many days of both containers and vm's running fine, I suddenly cannot start any containers (vm's still start).
Fails from both command line and gui with :
Failed to start pve-container@126.service: Connection timed out
See system logs and 'systemctl status pve-container@126.service' for...
Is it possible to create (and/or convert) a virtual machine (kvm) that uses a local directory instead of disk image such as qcow2, etc.?
For containers I can do :
-rootfs /vz/private/$VEID,size=20G
Thanks!
I've stopped the webgui at some point in the past and now want to restart it.
I tried:
systemctl start pveproxy
but get in the logs:

I have a VM for which I'm doing a network-based install. I need the VM to have an IP address at boot up. Currently it appears the guest OS is using DHCP (supplied to promox I assume?) to get an IP. Is there a way to specify/force a particular IP for DHCP to give out. I have a few public IP's...
I made a few containers by hand using -rootf :
pct create 100 local:vztmpl/centos-8-default_20191016_amd64.tar.xz -rootfs /vz/private/100
(I'm used to using openvz).
I was surprised this worked as from what I can tell the GUI only allows .raw filesystems.
I have a few questions :
1. What is...
Hello,
I have (7) 4 tb drives and setup Proxmox VE to use zfs raid-z2 for everything including the boot/root/etc.
I ran into an issue where I could not boot, booting had the error:
error: no such device: f9x98sdfsdfasdf8x89
A few questions:
1. Any idea of the general problem? My guess is...
I'm doing my first install on remote machine. I need to find provider that let's me re-install server from a custom image (ie. proxmox) or need to install on top of a base OS. This seems possible:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Stretch
but is it recommended? Or do I...
