Hello,

I have old openvz ve's (base os centos 5 and 6 - don't ask). What is the best way to move these to lxc (or anything else you recommend). They are located on a server running openvz (not proxmox). Is there a way to transfer the (/vz/private/ve_number) and conver to lxc?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Check out https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Convert_OpenVZ_to_LXC

FWIW, we got some specific feedback for OpenVZ to LXC migration w.r.t. CentOS 6 linked from the wiki:
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/centos-6-openvz-to-lxc-migration-issues.35058/

But, as the switch from the EOL OpenVZ to LXC happened from Proxmox VE 3.4 to 4.0 about 8 years ago the article probably did not see _that_ much testing in recent times, so I'd definitively test the process first with.
