so if we use same version 3.4 then we can be good to get the data migrated? Or is there any other way for us to do the data migration other than taking backup and restore
we don't plan to use it for long time we just need to connect and migrate the data. but since we are unable to bring it up we are not able to move the raw files. Can you advice how can we get the volume group activated ?
hi
I have an existing Proxmox Cluster based on Version 3.4 and it is sharing LVM group over ISCSI. Now we are building new cluster with version 6.1 and want to attach the same iscsi LVM group so we can migrate data. all seems to be going fine, but now when we are trying start the VM which is...
hi
thanks, but we got the IGMP snoopping to work well with our Switches , we found that one of the node was still flapping so we have isolated that, after that we did not face any issues. But this whole cluster issue started after upgrade to Proxmox 3.4, so I think there has been some core...

hello
we have cluster of 4 nodes, since last 3-4 weeks, nodes are leaving the cluster frequently, we have to restart cman and pve-cluster services to bring them back in the cluster. We thought high network traffic could be the cause so we assigned dedicated network interface for internal...
Hello
we have migrated all nodes to Latest 3.4 version of proxmox and tried to enable Firewall services. Few of the VMs running on Vyatta and used to setup VPN service over IPSec. Once the Firewall service is activated with default rule of ACCEPT or DENY, IPSEC connections do not get...
Hello
We had a cluster of 5 nodes for more than a year and had been working well. We upgraded nodes in the cluster to latest 3.4 one by one and got them back in cluster. Now since last 2 weeks, we have started to see a cluster flapping,
cpg_send_message failed: 9
and see an intermittent...
Hello
Recently we moved a 30GB disk from storage 1 to storage 2. Format of the vm disk is qcow2. On the storage 1, when we do qemu-img info, we see following info

file format: qcow2
virtual size: 30G (32212254720 bytes)

hello proxmox team,
seems we have a bug in the Roles & Permissions module. When we add a user and assign Role Administrator which has a permission (VM.Snapshot) , the user still doesnt' have permission to take snapshots, user can do backups but cannot take snapshots. We are using Proxmox 3.1...
Hello
We are using LVM Groups with Network Backing over iSCSI. All KVMs raw disk images are generated as independent logical volume. Is there a way to mount the specific LVM partition from the node like a regular LVM partitition.

thanks spirit, the solution worked. One question
when I used SCSI as device type, it got added in the KVM and I can see and mount, but when I remove the disk image from the configuration and physically, I still see the block device available under KVM. But this is not true for virtio device...
Hello
Can we add block storage in KVM guests and make them available without reboot of KVM guest ? I have seen this feature in Openstack and looks very promising.
We are having iSCSI based storage and would like to implement this feature.

hi
we have implemented ISCSI storage with 2 proxmox nodes and using LVM Groups to storage the VM disks. All seems to be okay, but we had 3 incidents where the individual VM disks on LVM partition disappeared and when we rebooted the VM, we got the error
"TASK ERROR: can't activate LV...
hello
I have configured SNMP successfully on Proxmox node and it is working properly. Since I am trying to automate the entire tracking process, I wanted to check if there is a way in which we can send the VM Name as IfAlias so when the interface is configured in cacti, we can get the VM name...
