after an apt dist-upgrade going from 8.1.3 to 8.1.5 i have packages not installed:
linux-headers-6.1.0-18-amd64
linux-headers-amd64
The machine reboots fine fortunately, and rerunning the dist-upgrade i was able to copy paste the output.

Hey all,
Im using PBS for VM and LXC backup like we all do, but its also possible to backup regular files.
Ive been reading a bit about backups and ended up with Borg to do my backups. In progress of redoing all previouly scripted rsync backup strategies.
Now comparing PBS to Borg, they both...
I bought a tiny SBC as qdevice, so i thought heck now im going for it i might as well set this up right. I havent tried the qdevice yet, but i changed hostnames(yes stupid i learned) on the two nodes. Im now left with a working setup but weird looking:

Hey!
Ive been pondering how to run the 3th voting machine in my house to get a 3node cluster. I have a CoreElec Odroid n2+ box as mediacenter, but also 4 routers, 3 of which are dumb APs and a main router.
The main router is a beefy machine, pretty much idling all day. A Linksys 3200ACM...
Hey all,
Bit of a beginners question.
I have a 2 NIC motherboard. One port is used for proxmox(192.168.1.2) and all of its CT's and VM's. The other is unused.
My router has all the ports full so i would like it use the free NIC for general networking purposes. So whatever i hook up to it...
Obviously the answer is NO, but what can i expect?
Say i have this:
1. PBS installed as VM in PVE
2. Cifs mount inside PBS to other (non PVE) machine with disks attached
3. Backup PBS seperately to non-PBS location
4. Backup the rest of VM&CT to PBS
When PVE dies, and it takes PBS with it can...
Where is my file?
I have a VM with disk: VMdisks:vm-201-disk-0,size=32G
I check VMdisks storage and see the disk in the list(only VM running at the moment so just that one.
I check datacenter storage for location which is a ZFS type. TANK/proxmox/VMdisks
I do a zfs list | grep VMdisks and...
Hello,
I wanted to add a GPU to my box and decided to take the plunge to attempt to enable passthrough and it failed. Im on the latest 6.4 proxmox.
My steps:
1.

updating grub gave me...
Hey,
I have a user called Harro:Harro with uid:gui 1000:1000 on proxmox host as well as exactly the same inside a container. I can map the ID's fine and user Harro can read/write on the host via a mountpoint. The LXC is privileged.
Something i dont get:

Hey,
I had to reinstall Proxmox 6.4 due to failed upgrade to 7. I pulled the lxc containers from backup and got them running, with proper lxc mappings as before.
NEW LXC containers behave weird.
Inside a fresh LXC ubuntu: (Harro is my name)
groupadd -g 1000 Harro
useradd -u 1000 -g Harro...
Suddenly the backup op VMs stopped working. Containers work. Both the same destination. A CIFS to a external5TB disk.

Hey,
So i had to reinstall a fresh 6.4 after a failed 7. Now i can recover some LXC which dont have any ID mapping. But others had read/write access to the host because i mapped u1000 g1000 to be the same in host AND lxc.
I forgot how i did it but i used this as guidance...
Hello! just registered to ask you for a solution to this problem.
After doing the proper prerequisites to go from 6.4 to 7.0.x i issued the apt dist-upgrade command from the web shell.
After pressing yes to continue I then ended up on a rather long text about kernels, about being able to return...
