I am running some tests after noticing some performance issues with guest disks. My guest has two disks, each is raw 4TB with default settings. One disk is using the ZFS storage, the other is using "directory" (which is using the ZFS disks root directory)
The storage is used for large media...
I have a 16 disk (8TB SAS HDD) RAIDZ2 pool with 2x8 disk udevs and performance seems awful. Writing a 15GB movie file maxes out at 120MB/s, which is the speed of a single disk in the pool.
I know there are many possible reasons, but im wondering if I can at least narrow it down a little, this...
Using a KVM with HAProxy installed shows significantly higher CPU usage and lower throughput when compared to a container with similar compute resources.
KVM ~350MBit/s throughput in HAProxy @ 100% CPU
LXC ~1GBit/s throughput in HAProxy @ 10% CPU

Thanks for the reply! I mentioned that I was testing and would be using disk ID when running production. Why would I use RaidZ3 over RaidZ2 when my goal is capacity? Im not concerned with more redundancy or performance.
Hello,
I am looking to setup a 24x2TB ZFS RaidZ2 array for maximum capacity. Performance is of minimal concern. I have done a decent amount of research but I just want to make sure I have optimal settings.
In the Proxmox interface I have block size set to 16K as I noticed the default 8K was...
Hello,
I am running Proxmox with a mirrored ZFS array and am running out of space.
Deleting files on the VM does not free up space on the host ZFS array, is there something I can do to reduce the size used? I deleted over 1TB of files and the array still shows the same 10.5TB used (92%).
Thanks!
