proxmox cd installer freezes after pressing enter

I have the same motherboard. You will have to use the "acpi=off" flag to boot successfully. At the install boot prompt type "debug acpi=off" without quotes. After installation you will either have to edit the line permantly or add the extra argument every time you boot the Proxmox box. P.S...

    2nd Hard Disc & LVM2 Questions

The storage available in my setup are two identical hard drives. Let me put it this way since I was not very clear in my initial post. 1)I have 2 1Tb hard drives in my server. Proxmox, through it's cd installation, allows 1 only hard drive to be the installation drive and therefore active post...

    2nd Hard Disc & LVM2 Questions

I use Proxmox in a home based setup for production & testing & am loving it. My setup includes 2 1Tb hard drives. Using part of the guide located here, http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage_Model#LVM_Groups ------------------------------------------------------------------ " Use local devices...

    Proxmox 1.2 & 1.3 Fail to install

Try what I have posted below from a previous post in this thread. I haven't had the oppertunity to try this as yet. . "Originally Posted by bragman have you tried to add "noacpi acpi=off" to boot line?" I'm not sure of the issues one may have turning acpi off but I'll let...

    Citrix XENServer Express VM Migration

I have used both Proxmox & XenServer & here are my observations. XenServer: - Vitruals will still function without the XenServer tools installed although performance is enhanced if the tools are installed. I saw a definite increase in performance recently in a Windows server vm after installing...

    Proxmox 1.2 & 1.3 Fail to install

I am not using the raid feature of this motherboard so I would believe that this isn't the issue on my end. Ram tested good with memtest running for over 4 hours with 0 errors.

    Proxmox 1.2 & 1.3 Fail to install

This is very interesting stuff. Memtest for over 2 hours showed no issues. I'll give it a try.

    Proxmox 1.2 & 1.3 Fail to install

Thank you very much for the followup. Seems like a kernel, Ati/AMD issue. I also read where you wrote that the kernel revision used in unstable worked without any issues. Is there any chance of getting these issues resolved in Proxmox?

    Proxmox 1.2 & 1.3 Fail to install

Have not tried the debian unstable release on this box. I did have Proxmox 1.1 working without issues. I want to do a "Clean" 1.3 install but neither 1.2 or 1.3 can even get into the install. Than it may just be a kernel issue possibly with the AMD 7xxG based motherboards.

    Proxmox 1.2 & 1.3 Fail to install

Even using the "debug" option leads to a black screen & nothing else. Tried installing Zenserver 5 again and it worked 100%. I want to use Proxmox though. This may be a problem with the latest kernel used in 1.2 & 1.3 as I just tried the latest Mandriva live linux, based on the latest kernel...

    Proxmox 1.2 & 1.3 Fail to install

I've downloaded burned both 1.2 & 1.3 releases at least twice each with the same result. I even tried installing from a usb flash drive. The PVE cd boots fine & displays the Proxmox splash screen. Upon starting the install, by hitting "Enter', the loading kernel message display for a very...

Can i try ProxMox on this hardware?

According to AMD all AM2 & Higher (AM2+ & AM3) X2, X3 & X4 cpu's support AMD-V. With Intel, not only the cpu but also the motherboard bios has to have this support (VT-x) enabled, which is needed to use KVM. In the AMD world this is pretty much the defacto standard. Even my other ITX based...

Can i try ProxMox on this hardware?

Finally got the "test" system up & running and all I can say is WOW! ProxMox is golden. For a test system my AMD 7750 seems more than up to the task, but in reality I'm not running more than 4 vm's at a time (Have 4gigs of ram). Presently have SME Server 8 beta, Clark Connect 5.2Beta, Windows...

Can i try ProxMox on this hardware?

This is exactly the kind of information I was after. Initially at least I will not be running that many vm's but it's good to know the experience people are having with "off the shelf" pc's. Keep it coming.

Can i try ProxMox on this hardware?

Thanks for the reply. Can you give me an idea of what you are doing with the system? How is it's performance? I am concerned that a BE-2400 may not be enough even for running 2 or 3 vm's. (CentOS 5.2, SME server 8 & Windows server 2003) I have now pretty much finalized my ProxMox system after...

Can i try ProxMox on this hardware?

I have stumbled on ProxMox and am very excited to give it a try for testing & proof of concept. I have some "Off the shelf" components here and was wondering if there may be any problems getting ProxMox 1.1 up & going. I have two Motherboards to choose from, one based on the AMD 780G chipset...
