Thank you for the reply.
Because the cluster is down I have to access the site through a 5G device with out of band management to the cluster. So I only have access to the Proxmox cli.
Is it possible to reinstall ceph without losing my configuration?
Or what logs would I need to post here to...
Hi All,
I am not an experienced Linux engineer but this has become my problem to try and fix.
I upgraded one node on a 3 node cluster from 7.4.17 to 8 following this guide:
Upgrade from 7 to 8 - Proxmox VE
The upgrade was only done on one node. I followed all steps in the guide carefully...
Yes, /etc/pve/ceph.conf was clear of any config of the old node.
If I run pveceph status it just times out.
I also can't ping the public IP I configured for ceph on the new node but can ping the other IP's from the new node.
So I edited the crush map and then did a fresh install of of the PVE on a new node. I joined it to the cluster and installed CEPH but I cannot add any monitors. I get the error "Could not connect to ceph cluster despite configured monitors (500)"
All nodes are setup exactly the same following...
Thank you, and this won't affect the 2 nodes remaining? We have a 3rd server arriving to replace the dead node. This changes won't affect adding a new node with the same IP's and name into the cluster?
Hi have a 3 node cluster.
One node had a physical failure. We removed it from the cluster but it seems some entries remained behind in the crushmap:
Is it safe for me to manually edit the crushmap and remove all entries pointing to the host NZ-AUk-Host1?
# begin crush map
tunable...
I have a 2 node cluster that I am trying to add a 3rd node to.
The nodes are both running CEPH 16.2.6.
When I install CEPH on the new node after adding it to the cluster it goes to 16.2.9.
How can I install CEPH on the new node and make sure it stays on the 16.2.6 version?
Thanks
Hi there,
I have a 3 node proxmox cluster. One node died so I removed it from the cluster following the steps in this document:
Proxmox VE 4.x Cluster - Proxmox VE
We are using CEPH and some configs have remained behind.
If I view the OSD disks, the disks are gone but the host remains in the...
Thank you.
I have a couple of problems. We don't have a Proxmox subscription and secondly one of the VM's is the sites router. If this vm is off then I lose connection to the site.
So if I need to downgrade ceph on the pve7 node to keep system uptime I will need to go this route.
Is there a...
Thank you for the reply.
So my options it seems is to downgrade ceph on the upgraded node or upgrade ceph on the other nodes and then ceph will function again on all nodes and I can do the rest of the PVE 6.3 upgrades to 7.
I would assume the ceph upgrade is disruptive to the vm's on the node?
Hi, thank you for the reply.
Yes I followed those documents but only one node has been Proxmox 7 and the new Ceph.
I can't do the other nodes as I can't migrate the VM's away because of the upgraded node being unavailable.
Hi All,
I am relatively new to Proxmox so any help is appreciated.
I have a 3 node Proxmox cluster. It was on version 6.3, but I upgraded to the cluster to 6.4 and everything is working correctly.
Next I upgraded one node from 6.4 to 7.1 but now the monitors won't start for the Ceph.
In the...
Hi All,
I am relatively new to Proxmox and need to upgrade our systems.
We have older software versions running from around 6.1.3.
We would like to upgrade to version 7.
I have found this link that explains how to upgrade from 6.4 to 7, but do I need to first upgrade to 6.4...
