Hello,
technically it makes no sense to remove the live migration ability, but the M$ licensing rules for the SQL server deny to run a system in a cluster that has this option (if you have not an SA license). I tried to use a dedicated storage, attached only to one host. But Proxmox is too...
The shutdown of the remaining nodes in case that they have no majority it's just a security feature to avoid VM's running twice, in case that a cluster is broken. If you know that this is not the case, you can just decrease the number of expected nodes with "pvecm expected 1" and even a single...
Good question. The same cluster has also some Debian 10/11 machines, without this issue. The Ubuntu machine was migrated from Hyper-V, maybe something in the boot process is still left from M$.
There seems to be a bug with the new version in the multipath handling on fiber channel LUN's (detected on Cisco Blades / VIC FCoE HBA).
In some circumstances the fiber channel connections are getting lost.

IBM uses a license metering based on CPU types / CPU usage (PVU). The tool to measure the consumption called ILMT supports several hypervisors, unfortunately not Proxmox VE.
I opened a ticket at IBM to add the support, other IBM/Proxmox users may vote for it ;)
Until IBM hopefully add it, has...
That's the issue, and there is no other solution to use snapshots on fibre channel based storage. Without snapshots no consistent backup, no way for a simple test environment ...
We are evaluating ProxMox as a replacement for HyperV in an environment with FC based SAN. All tests with multipath LVM looked good, until we detected that it supports no snapshots, means also our backup solution vProtect will not work.
Solutions like oVirt are able to make snapshots on...
