ProxMox with FC based SAN

We are evaluating ProxMox as a replacement for HyperV in an environment with FC based SAN. All tests with multipath LVM looked good, until we detected that it supports no snapshots, means also our backup solution vProtect will not work.
Solutions like oVirt are able to make snapshots on multipath LVM, so it's no problem to use them on FC.

Is there any solution available to use ProxMox?

That's the issue, and there is no other solution to use snapshots on fibre channel based storage. Without snapshots no consistent backup, no way for a simple test environment ...

We use the LVM (thick) storage directly and thus snapshots are not possible. AFAIU and remember oVirt is using qcow inside the LVs to provide snapshots.

Alternatively you can use the integrated backups which will snapshot the VM disk on the virtualization layer (qemu). A quick look at the vProtect documentation mentions that as well.

The Proxmox Backup Server might also be of interest.

Installing the guest agent is always a good idea And thanks for mentioning it as it important. Via the guest agent PVE tells the guest to sync writes to disk via the fs-freeze command.

I have lvm over iscsi, i can't snapshot at LVM layer, but when backup the snapshot is at virtualization layer as aaron said; so backup are consistent.

you don't need storage snapshot feature for qemu live backup.
