    NFS "File Exists" error

Hi All... I created an NFS share using Microsoft Storage Server. I had no trouble adding the NFS share to Proxmox 2.2. However, if i try to backup a container, or create a new container, to the share, I get a popup window displaying this error message: mkdir /mnt/pve/NFS1: File exists at...

    Going from 1.7 to 2.2

Hi Udo, yes I did that. These appear to be identical, except for the IP address. The one at 72.46.65.253 works, and was generated from a template on the Proxmox 2.2 server. The one at 72.46.65.64 was backed up on the 1.7 server using vzdump, copied to the 2.2 server, restored with vzrestore...

    Going from 1.7 to 2.2

But the console is really not my big problem. You just reminded me that I can enter the container from the host machine. It seems to be running okay except that it can not ping anything. If I try to ping its own address, I get network unreachable. I think if I can solve this problem, I'll be in...

    Going from 1.7 to 2.2

Okay thanks again. But the wiki link you pointed me to directed me to modify the inittab under root/5006/etc/ but of course there is no file there. I tried modifying the inittab in the private/5006/etc/ folder but this didn't resolve the issue at all.

    Going from 1.7 to 2.2

Thanks very much. After restoring the archive using vzrestore, the private area is created and populated. But the root area, although created, is empty. I checked the log from the vzdump session, and it never mentioned saving the root area, just the private area. I checked the options for...

    Going from 1.7 to 2.2

Hi All... I used vzdump on Proxmox VE 1.7 to save a container. I then used scp to move that backup tar file to a server running Proxmox 2.2 and I used vzrestore to restore that backup file. The container appeared in list and I started it. I noticed some issues. First, I can not get a console to...

    Upgrade from 1.7 to 2.1?

Hi all... I have a Proxmox cluster of 1.7 machines and I now see we're up to 2.1! From reading, saw that it is recommended to move from 1.9 to 2.0 that a new 2.0 machine be built and the VPSs be installed from backup. I have no NVK VMs, just VPS. Could I just install a 2.1 machine, add it to...

joomla appliance and initial passwords missing

The auto-generated passwords for MySql and Joomla. According to the wiki, these are supposed to be auto-genned and reported in the log file that is created on the initial run of the appliance. There is a screen shot in the wiki, but the lines referenced in the screen shot do not appear in my logs.

Hi All... I have been fighting with the Joomla appliance. I can install it, but when I try to find the randomized passwords as explained int he wiki, I see no reference to them in my log. I'll paste my log below. I am installing on Proxmox VE 1.7. MySql is running... Thanks... starting init...

New Proxmox VE kernel 2.6.32 and 2.6.35 released to stable

I don't understand... Are you saying that if we use OpenVZ containers, we should not upgrade the kernel? Is support for OpenVZ containers being phased out in future releases of PVE?

VPS does not come back after reboot - even after 5 minutes :-(

Hi All... I installed proxmox VE 1.7 from the distribution rom and have made no updates or changes of any type. I created a debian container using the Debian 6.02 standard template downloaded from proxmox. I then ran aptitude update and aptitude upgrade to bring the container to current...

Upgrade from 1.5 to 1.7 question

Hi All... I hope everyone had a nice holiday! I am currently running a Proxmox cluster of two machines, each one running 1.5VE with kernel 2.6.18-2-pve. I have been reading in the forum that newer kernels are out, but I thought I saw that one of these does not support the containers, just...

Big problems after upgrade to 1.5 - can not launch or migrate VPSs

Hi All... I had a two server cluster running Proxmox 1.3 and today I decided to upgrade to 1.5 with the 2.6.32 kernel. I first migrated my VPSs from the master to the node, so there were no VPSs on it. I followed the instructions in the wiki and did the upgrade. The kernel on the master and...

    Migrating W 2000 w/ many partitions

Hi All... I was just reading in the wiki about migrating Windows boxes to KVM: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Migration_of_servers_to_Proxmox_VE I had a couple of questions. The link to selfimage is bad, is this product still available? Also, the box I need to migrate has 7 drive letters /...
