We have a dell r610 server with 6 x 2.5 inch.
Considering one of these options to host a few cPanel VMs on proxmox host.
Which should provide the best performance?
2 x 1TB SSD disks in RAID 1and 4 x 2 TB SSD disks in RAID 10.
Then for VMS we will set OS and MySQL on SSD disks and /home...
We keep things standard so that if anything breaks its easy for us to just setup new box and restore VM and because IPs are on same VLAN VPS just goes online.
Secondly with performance in mind really depends on you if you using SSDs you wont notice much difference. SATA disks you will.
But you...
Hi
Dont think it would work. Like wolfgang said ZFS does not support userquotas and you said and quote:
"My disk is mounted as a zfs raid1"
which is ZFS. For cPanel like we do it I recommend using KVM or LXC but the main thing is directly on local or shared storage (Not ZFS), LVM works fine too.
Hi guys
What are the risks of making the following a global setting. We host VPS servers ranging from Ubuntu, Debian but mainly cPanel and CentOS servers.
CPanel requires the following :
lxc.aa_profile = unconfined
in each conf file. We dont want to do this manually each time so considering...
Finally I can move back to proxmox from solusvm :) LXC was hell without loadavg not working but finally it is.
I just tested this out on a test server using cpanel test box and using "stress" - https://www.tecmint.com/linux-cpu-load-stress-test-with-stress-ng-tool/
and it works perfectly :)...
Not sure if you can as it is ploop whennusing openvz7 and not simfs. First you may need to find a way to convert from openvz 7 to 6 then convert back to simfs then try and it should work
I tried everything does not work anymore. Having too much troubnle with LXC since using it. Moved back to Solusvm. Customers happier :)
Proxmox we use now only for our own Server infrastructure using KVM only not VPS customers anymore. Loosing too much with this LXC problems everywhere.
Yip
Very sure as I can see it what the node has here:
eno1: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
ether 0c:c4:7a:4f:06:84 txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet)
RX packets 403291348 bytes 86965611033 (80.9 GiB)
RX errors 0 dropped 54691 overruns 0 frame 0...
Well the container is on for 1 day and did that amount of traffic as per proxmox console. Though the node itself is not calculating that and our data center switch is not seeing that traffic aswell. You state its not bandwidth but traffic. Define Traffic then. Thought Traffic was the amount of...
Have a a few VPS Servers that I see something strange occuring on.
Traffic is counting like this:
Although its not really using that traffic if we check the switch.
Also if I check the inside on the countainer looks like it may be some sort of "internal" traffic being counted as outbound...
well what worked for us was to create a normal guest and set it up the way u want we then backip the guest using gzip instead of lzop and rename it to a good name. then we place that in thr templates/cache folder and setup new lxc vps using that. Works quite well.
Hi
I have the same issues and its seem to be happening on more nodes now.
I have to keep running this to get them to start up now:
echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/compact_memory
We converted CentOS 6 OpenVZ containers a few months back to LXC via proxmox.
In doing so we got everthing to work.
Now cpanel recommends the following be added so crons, etc. work well:
lxc.apparmor.profile: unconfined
We did this on all the containers that were done but when we try to SSH...
