ISO and Templates Resident on the local Proxmox system

Thanks @Tom. Would it be prudent for me to apply the same "aptitude ..." command to this beta 2 as was advised for Beta1 users? They were advised to upgrade as follows: aptitude update && aptitude dist-upgrade. Or what would you advise for competency. Thanks in advance.

ISO and Templates Resident on the local Proxmox system

I am using Proxmox Beta 2. This is machine is used for beta testing and feedback to Proxmox. It is a 64bit X2 with 4GB of RAM. It intends to test KVM features ONLY, currently booting several Linux distros and an WinXP. This system is pristine. Except for a mount to copy ISO files manually to...

    ISO and Templates

More Info on the setup of latest beta Pristine. Gave up on trying to get your system to see ISO physically residing on the Proxmox filesystem. So, when on to complete a Create VM to see if I could get Proxmox to start the VM from the CD. Now, I've got a "new" problem. You may have seen this...

    ISO and Templates

To insure correctness, my ISOs for my KVM VPC should be in /mnt/pve/template/iso. Is that correct? PVE Version pve-manager: 2.0-10 (pve-manager/2.0/7a10f3e6) running kernel: 2.6.32-6-pve proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 2.0-52 pve-kernel-2.6.32-6-pve: 2.6.32-52 lvm2: 2.02.86-1pve1 clvm: 2.02.86-1pve1...

    ISO and Templates

I have a similar question. I have my ISOs stored on a NAS. In the PROXMOX host console, I have mounted (SMB) the ISOs folder to Proxmox. Where should I link/remount these to the Proxmox filesystem so that Proxmox can use these for booting in the clients? Thanks in advance.

    New GUI

I like the logical approach that the new GUI offers. (I liked the old, but this is good too) I am having a problem and could use some guidance on V2.0. I want to create a KVM, to boot a Linux ISO or CD into it. I am running into 2 problems trying to boot either. To be clear, when I comment...

Couple issues found during 2.0 testing

Thanks @Dietmar. Did a little digging on these. FDISK - fdisk is old. But, functional. (I think this is true) When fdisk creates a partition, it works on a cylinder boundary for partition allocation. Thus this warning does not arise. But, when other tools create partition, they create it on a...

Couple issues found during 2.0 testing

Thanks @Dietmar I was referring to the message that is shown in the screen that reflects "Disk device doesn't contain a valid partition table" Thanks is the part about the polishing that I thought Promox would consider addressing. The message shown the results of the Proxmox install...

Couple issues found during 2.0 testing

In testing Proxmox VE, several issues were found. Problem#1 I seem to remember fdisk issues being reported last year. See below for the problem accounting. Proxmox is a polished product. Although this is correctable by the user, this kind of issue should not occur. Problem#2 All modern...

2 items to consider in Proxmox future

Yeah, that partitioning IS in need of some freedom. It would certainly yield some freedom that my circumventing wouldn't be necessary. But, your system does work. Thanks. I look forward to V2. If you want a beta test installer, let me know how I can help..

2 items to consider in Proxmox future

I really like the product that you've created. Thanks. This thread is about 2 messages which are disturbing why they even exist. NTP message which pops up on the PROXMOX host's console: "warning: 'ntp' uses 32bit capabilities..." FDISK message which shows when listing: Device Boot...
