On the PBS homepage we can see on the screenshot multiple storages that seem remote = I'm curious how these storas are mounted. Are they remotes or only local? Or does it means there are clusters that store to a remote PBS not always in the same network?

that's actually a good question. On the DL360 I have to put the boot on the smartcard to be able to use the hba mode. Is there anyway to do it during the installation?

I am using ceph mostly as a convenient way to abstract storage on the server. I was wondering if I choose to have a 1-copy pool, there is a way to create the vm on the same machine the storage will be created. Is this already the case?

I know that ideally corosync has to run on distinct networks , especially when used with ceph. But I wonder if in practice if it's useful when you put the traffic of ceph in its own switch and other traffic on another? Ie.: SWITCH 1...

that would be kind of separate machine... just want to max out its usage waiting a proper machine. That's good to know about the kernel. the plan is indeed to test it until the machine arrive so a vm would do the trick and be safer probably

OK thanks for the answer. I will try. The only real thing now the I have to decide is if I will run PBS along PVE using debian packages or in a VM. The first one should work if they share their way to configure the system. The PRO of having it in PVE is the flexibility given for it to reuse...

oh we are only speaking roughly of 200GB daily maybe less since it will be deduplicated. I don't think the final backup will go over 1TB
