Hi guys,
In this post: https://lists.proxmox.com/pipermail/pve-devel/2022-June/053338.html, there is mention of a (future) feature that allows an administrator to base selection of a PVE cluster backup job on a tag - and then of course be able to select a tag. The backup job would then only backup those hosts (be it VM's or LXC's) that have that specific tag.
I would very much see this implemented, but this is only mentioned in the post above... and it is filed June 2022.
Are there any plans in this direction? I would encourage the devs to seriously consider this, bc I think this would be a very powerful selection criterium and one that would help out a lot of administrators.
Does anyone agree?
Thank you for your great work!
Regards,
Martin

I just came looking for this. I went to upgrade my PBS and couldn't because it was busy backing up some older powered-off VMs that all happen to have the "archived" tag. While waiting I thought it would be nice to be able to exclude and include by tags similar to the selection mode that permits choosing individual VMs to include or exclude. I'm glad to see it is on the radar and that the bug has lots of +1s.

@fabian is there a better way for users to indicate their support/priority for proxmox features?
