Hi,
there's no official hardware certification list for Proxmox VE. Since it's based on Debian, it runs on pretty much any standard x86_64 hardware that Debian supports. The HP ProDesk 600 G5 SFF with the i5-9500 should work fine – the CPU...
Ich hab jetzt RAID10 (in "Create ZFS") genommen, mit 4x 960 GB, compression on: OK ? Gibt also in etwa 2x960GB Nutzvolumen pro Node.
Damit kann ich leben, die 5-8 TB waren fürs SAN gedacht, wenn ich erinnere.
Ich konnte auch bereits erfolgreich...
Hi @scontin,
Thanks for the mention! You're right, hardware cost is a real problem right now, and flash isn't getting cheaper anytime soon.
I know you asked about options beyond Blockbridge, but this seemed worth mentioning. What we're seeing...
Is it?
I am running ZFS only. On mirrors, of course. Five nodes --> 10 disks. (Minimum, actually there are many more - but for simplicity...)
Every VM being replicated to all five nodes means that each and every byte is stored on 10 physical...
You can query DNS by multiple tools. A simple one is this:
host -t TXT _spf.google.com
_spf.google.com descriptive text "v=spf1 ip4:74.125.0.0/16 ip4:209.85.128.0/17 ip6:2001:4860:4864::/56 ip6:2404:6800:4864::/56 ip6:2607:f8b0:4864::/56...
Just to be sure, you know that page? --> https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Upgrade_from_8_to_9
I followed it multiple times and it worked in every single case.
But I can not answer your question nevertheless - I am using only a very few LXCs...
You did not tell us how the actual storage of the PBS is implemented. (Specifically the ".chunks"-store.)
Especially restoring (and verifying) does need IOPS as each and every chunk has to be read from media...
First guess: check the system temperature. Some devices produces errors when running too hot. Look at the SMART-data to get an idea. Example, just for demonstration:
~# smartctl -A /dev/sda | grep -i temp
194 Temperature_Celsius 0x0022...
One simple single forwarded port is not sufficient, I believe. The more common way is to utilize a reverse proxy: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/working-novnc-with-reverse-proxy-on-5-1.43644/
Also rethink your approach with regard to security...
You could start a new cluster with the latest 9.2 on one node and restore VMs from backups. Start with one node (which your cluster should easily be able to miss) and test your most important VMs on it. Then extend it with more nodes and more VMs...
Hi, I advise running Memtest for a good couple of cycles.
Successful installations in the past don't guarantee that the hardware is in working order now. This applies to RAM as well.
I have experienced myself RAM modules running properly in PCs...
I think you're going about this the wrong way.
the payload of virtualization or standalong filesystem are not materially different. when I fire up testdisk on a block device, it doesnt care whether its a fileset of naked pictures or a root linux...
Thank you for the suggestions! Unfortunately, I don’t have enough hardware available to build and test a Proxmox cluster, so I’ll focus on a single-node setup for this experiment.
However, the idea of virtualizing the environment and using...
While I do not run large clusters but only a few smaller ones I see some additional failure sources - random thoughts:
is it a cluster or a single machine? For a cluster you may inject network errors/outages
I am not sure how to emulate Ram...
This is not recommended for running VMs on, and therefore not realistic, according to the community: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/fabu-can-i-use-zfs-raidz-for-my-vms.159923/
Sorry, I just wanted to mention that one ;-)
Every administrator has a separate account, right? If not: how could you tell who made that big mistake last night? ;-)
(( In my $dayjob we are utilizing ssh with forced key-only login and sudo logs...
Hello rmaxhost, I must admit that I probably do not understand what you're asking, sorry.
When you install PVE from the installation .iso (usually from an USB stick) you can select ZFS and create a mirror, utilizing those two S3610. That's fine...
Hallo zusammen,
No.
One possible workaround is to adjust /etc/profile (or possibly .bashrc, depending on the desired scope) inside the containers: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/how-to-load-environment-variables-when-using-pct-enter.164456/
