Hey everyone! Just giving this a friendly bump. Is there any way to disable the default mouse or make it so that my Windows VM recognizes the default mouse device as a USB device so that I can disable it or apply the HP vMouse driver to it?
Is there a simple means of disabling the mouse entirely for a Windows 10 VM? I am connecting to my VM via a 3rd party remote protocol and I want to test the 3rd party's mouse driver (HP RGS).
From what I can gather, the default mouse used by the Proxmox console appears as a PS2 Device. The...
Hey y'all, been a while. Moved to ESXi for a minute. I'm back now, I'm sorry I ever left.
I've been using a few different cards in different passthrough configurations recently.
For those of you on Supermicro X10DAI series boards trying to use passthrough with a relatively powerful card, I...
I'm working on developing my own VDI solution but it's slow going. Between teaching programming and working tech support I can't seem to find time to work on the lab. Basically, I still use Moonlight for my gaming vm because Moonlight runs on Android, it's reliable, it's high performance, and I...
Arlighty, we've ruled out the migration.
Interestingly, you're not maxing out that gigabit NIC. At 1gbe you should be seeing about 100MBps on the transfer speed, assuming your storage can handle that.
My guess is you're using an old Realtek NIC. Can you check that on the host?
Something like...
Hello all!
I'm trying to connect one of my thin clients to a Proxmox VM via Spice. I started using Opaque, and while I'm close to establishing a connection, I have not been able to yet. I believe my issue is that I don't fully understand the Proxmox API yet, and as such my requests to the...
Hardware sounds possible to me since virtio is paravirtualized, but what I would recommend is doing a fresh install of 2016 on a new VM and trying the virtio driver that way. I'd follow the recommendations of the tutorial video for 10/2016 that's stickied on the forums main page I believe.
If...
@fabian
The idea of pinning is fairly new to me, but as I understand it, it's an added integrity check?
You pass a root cert to the remote-viewer client and it verifies that the host cert is chained to the root. Is that correct so far?
If you have a self signed root cert, then that cert...
I had this same issue with passing through a single RX 480 to a Windows 10 VM. Eventually I gave up on the AMD card entirely and moved to NVIDIA. Problem solved! But here's a list of things you could try, based on what I learned from my experience.
1- Pass through the audio controller and the...
Sorry to be a nuisance. I updated the title and content of my post slightly.
My issue currently is that I can't get SPICE to function after applying a custom SSL cert to my host.
Is it possible that this bug filed a few months back is the reason my SPICE console no longer functions after...
Is your Windows ISO stored in the same location as your virtio driver iso? If you go to the shell, what permissions can you see on the Windows install image iso? What happens if you change the bus type from IDE to SATA on the second CD drive?
You can select update drivers and then just point device manager to your virtio ISO drive letter and it'll automatically take care of finding and installing the appropriate virtio device.
For reference, my HID Button over Interrupt was always showing a driver error in Server 2016. It appears to...

Hey everyone!
I've just about ironed out my Proxmox install so that it does anything and everything I could ever ask of it.
One thing I'm still having trouble with is accessing my Proxmox VMs with SPICE enabled, via Android SPICE clients, like aSpice...
I used these instructions to add space to my local lvm. Basically, check your disk, there should be a local volume and a local lvm volume. I increased my local lvm volume by installing a second disk, creating a lvm partition on it with fdisk, then used the commands listed in the tutorial to add...
Hi all!
I know this question is a little out of the scope of what would be considered a normal feature request, but I'd be willing to put in the work to develop something to provide this functionality if someone here could provide a basic outline of where to start, or I'm willing to pay for a...
