Okay, looks like I got this solved. Seems like the firewall's WAF had interfered here. Strange that the page opened normally but just the add action was ate... However, I will collect some feedback from users to see if it is solved for them, too. -

it doesn't really make much of a practical difference. "apt-get" was the "stable" interface, and "apt" the "nice" one, but going forward apt will get versioned interfaces as well, and apt-get will likely be dropped/just exist as a compat layer...
