[SOLVED] Adding new PCIe card prevents boot.

This was it. I had one of the VMs starting at boot with a passthrough NIC card. But with the changed card id's once the new PCIe card was added, that autoboot machine then started took over the graphics card. So I couldn't see things locally, and without the nic, I couldn't ssh in. Anyway...

[SOLVED] Adding new PCIe card prevents boot.

Yeah, black screen w/ display/keyboard directly to the host. I can't do anything. But I've seen no other errors in the log other than as above. It goes through the entire boot sequence though, right up to the point it would normally drop to a login prompt. Then nothing.

[SOLVED] Adding new PCIe card prevents boot.

Oh that makes sense, how do I do that though? Because when I plug the card in, I get a black screen and can't access the machine? So I can't change things.

[SOLVED] Adding new PCIe card prevents boot.

I have a working proxmox system for the past year. But I wanted to try installing a new card (tv tuner) to my system to pass through to a new machine. When I add the card and boot the system, everything goes normal right up to when it should get to the login screen, at which point the monitor...

    Restore to a zfs/thin provision from a .qcow2 file?

I have a .qcow2 file of a VM that I used to have in a 'directory' storage system. I have a backup of this VM from a week ago that I used to "restore" the VM with and then restored it to a new location in my datacenter storage that I made ZFS (with thin provision checked when I made that...

    can't restore /etc folder.

So through an act of carelessness I accidentally deleted my entire /etc folder in my system. I have a copy of the folder in my backups though, so I tried to rsync the folder back from my backup to /etc. But I get a "failed: operation not permitted (1)" error I tried stopping all of the...

Help deciding how to share ZFS pools across my home network?

I have two ZFS pools with multiple mount points for various datasets. I want to share those across my home network. In reading around there seem to be a lot of ways to do that and no consensus so I thought I'd try to explain my use case and get advice. I mainly run linux machines, but I do...

    [SOLVED] ZFS 0.8.4 install?

I know it's not supported yet. But I am just curious to test some things for fun. I've read around and can't find anything that really shows the best way to move from 0.8.3 to 0.8.4. I feel like this is really dumb on my part, but can someone point me in the right direction? I tried enabling...

[SOLVED] Adding HBA card kills my ethernet?

Yes, it's enp4s0 when the card is plugged in. And enp5s0 when it's not plugged in. Same here. When in slot two, it wasn't working. It was enp4s0. But I originally installed proxmox without the card installed at all. Then put the card in slot 3 after install, and I got no ethernet. But if...

[SOLVED] Adding HBA card kills my ethernet?

I have a fresh install of 6.2. It installed fine and I can access it over the network in my home. It's running on a ryzen 3700x and a x570 motherboard. I have a Dell H200E HBA card. Once I install that on the motherboard and turn on my system. During boot I get flashing lights on my...
