I know this post is really old, but would be nice if this was still doable. I tried on version 6.1 and get
500 Can't connect to [server IP]:8006
Does anyone know how to update this code to work with 6.1?
UPDATE: Ok, I figured it out. I wasn't running ActiveState Perl. I downloaded...
Re: Windows 2012 WOn't Shutdown with ACPI Shutdown Command - Solved
Found problem.
Problem was in Power Settings, I had Power button set to do nothing. Changed to Shutdown and system now shuts down as expected!
Hello. I am having an issue with Windows 2012 and Proxmox Shutdown commands.
Windows doesn't respond to the shutdown command in Proxmox Gui.
I am running Proxmox 3.0-23/957f0862
I have ACPI Support: Yes.
I also followed the advice from this webpage...
Quick question...
I have backups setup once a week on my Proxmox server. The images are RAW format. and I have the backups setup for snapshot.
My question is this. I noticed today, that while it's backing up the servers, the servers continue to work... I can still ping them and login...
Oh! Perfect! So I just added the drive using the below example:
sata1: /dev/disk/by-id/wwn-0x600508b1001c6389
And that seemed to fix my problem! Thank you so much!!!!!!
Thanks for the response. The hard drive is actually /dev/sdb. It has two partitions. Each partition has a UUID. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to get the actual UUID of /dev/sdb. I had to get the UUID of each partition Ex: sdb1 and sdb2.
The odd thing is, in windows disk...
Hello.
I have a VM and within the VM, I have the primary drive as a RAW image. I then added two physical drives to the VM using UUID. See below:
sata0: local-hd2:101/vm-101-disk-1.raw,size=40G
sata2: /dev/disk/by-uuid/F0DE690FDE68CF80,backup=no,size=410400M

Hi Tom! Thanks for the reply. I actually ended up redoing my Proxmox and that fixed the problem. So not sure what the cause was. But do have a question... You recommended I use Virtio for my drives? When I select that and start a Windows 2012 install, it can't find my drives. I assume it...
Hi Tom. Thanks again for your help.
I was able to disable "fast boot", but this didn't solve the problem :(. I am currently running on a AMD FX-6300 AM3+. This is a 6 core processor. I have tried changing this to 1 and it makes no difference.
I am at a loss on what to do from here, so...

Hello!
Not sure if this as been addressed... Looked in forums and can't find anything on it..
If you install Windows 2008r2 or Windows Server 2012 on a VM where the HD is on SATA0... After you do Windows Updates, the system will no longer boot. You have to manually edit the config file...
Hi.
I am trying to create a DOS VM in Proxmox.
When I boot off a bootable CD for DOS that I made, it boots fine.
I go to FDISK the C-Drive and this works.
I then reboot the machine and boot off CD again.
I then try to format the C-Drive.
When doing this, I get read/write failures...
I'm sorry, so are we saying that it's fixed? Or are we saying that since IE isn't very common, that it probably won't get fixed?
I did switch to Googl Chrome for now, and all seems to be working wonderfully :)
YAY!!! I was pulling my hair out! I thought I was the only one with this issue since I didn't see any posts for it! :D
I am running IE9 - Host machine is Windows 7 x64 as well. Java is v7 build 1.7.0-b147
Thanks!
Hi. Maybe I am missing something, but I am running Windows 7 on my VM machine. Everything runs great. I changed my resolution in the VM to be 1024x768 (this is a low resolution). When I click Console in the Proxmox web interface to look at the session and control it, a new window opens up...
