Hello. I am having an issue with Windows 2012 and Proxmox Shutdown commands.

Windows doesn't respond to the shutdown command in Proxmox Gui.

I am running Proxmox 3.0-23/957f0862

I have ACPI Support: Yes.

I also followed the advice from this webpage: http://mindref.blogspot.com/2011/04/kvm-shutdown-windows-guest-gracefullly.html. It basically says to enable shutdown without login and set timeout for logged in users to 1.

Any other suggestions?

Update: I also tried following the document on http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Windows_2012_guest_best_practices#shutdown_guest_from_web_gui. Very bottom tells you to change the ShutdownWithoutLogon value to 1 (note this was already done from link above) and also change Attributes = 2 then change 'Console lock display off timeout' = 0 (disabled). All this has been done and I rebooted the server manually. Still have the same issue :(

Thanks again!

Aaron

Thank you!

Re: Windows 2012 WOn't Shutdown with ACPI Shutdown Command - Solved

Found problem.

Problem was in Power Settings, I had Power button set to do nothing. Changed to Shutdown and system now shuts down as expected!
