Just received a new server that we are using to test NVMe driver performance implications for our environment. Got Ubuntu 14.04 install with no problems for an initial burn-in and testing.
Now we want to put in our Proxmox Ve lab to examine VM performance, but the 3.4 installer seems to fail...
I think this might be a bug.
I just completed moving all of our existing production servers and VMs to a new V3-based cluster. Rather than try to upgrade in place, we decided to take a new server, install 3.0 clean and create a new cluster and then start moving VMs and doing clean installs on...
We're in the process of transitioning from a Dell-heavy shop a mixed shop, right now mostly Supermicro. We've got one 1U in production - a SuperServer 1027R-WRFT+. So far we've been happy with it and the other Supermicro gear we have in production (storage servers doing shared, backup and...
Just like above, one of my nodes keeps showing red, but the VMs and all features appear to be working (mix of local and shared storage and all the VMs stay up). Pvestatd restart throws an error, but actually works and gets the system showing as green again. Any ideas why this is happening and...
Thanks xlnt - yes, I'm aware of the licensing restrictions on the "community" version of Nexenta. I may also explore OpenIndiana if we decide that costs are an issue, but that probably won't be our primary concern in regards to our OS costs for storage. Our existing off the shelf system will be...
Re: How to migrate KVM machine from proxmox 1.8 a to 2.X . failure to detect the hard
I think that would work - since I've used Clonzilla (http://clonezilla.org/) for multicast cloning before and it was available - that's what I used for cloning. They have a livecd version which you can mount...
We'll soon outgrow our existing shared storage device (off the shelf NAS) and are looking at migrating to a Nexenta system. We're currently using NFS, but I'm wondering if anyone has done comparative testing on the same hardware between iSCSI and NFS for Proxmox Ve 2.0+? I haven't found much...
Re: How to migrate KVM machine from proxmox 1.8 a to 2.X . failure to detect the hard
If you still have access to the 1.8 machine you can add a new IDE or virtio drive and then a clonezilla livecd to clone your SCSI disk to the new disk and then remove the SCSI disk and reboot. Once you're sure...
I figured it out (funny how posting something makes you rethink through it again). I looked at the log for pveam and figured out that the templates update by querying an address not listed in sources. Moving forward all of our infrastructure servers will be walled off from direct internet...
Just updated my test installation earlier this week and noticed that the templates didn't appear to be there, so I run the update again today and still the templates are the same as when I installed the beta (I think I started with beta3). Any ideas?
This thread was easy to find, but it might be nice if the information was added to the release notes - just in case the order of upgrading ever does matter.
Okay that's what I thought - except when I went to do that I found out that there isn't a main.cf at /etc/postfix/. So is it in a non-standard location or does this file not have to exist?
I know that messages are being generated and I know the server is trying to send them because I get a...
