Help me understand my storage options

Hello - setting up a Proxmox 9.1 cluster to connect to a Dell PowerStore SAN. I could do iSCSI or FC but would prefer to do FC. I need to maintain the ability to do VM snapshots and would prefer to be able to do Proxmox HA (though not strictly necessary).

Can this be accomplished by presenting LUNs to my hosts and then adding them as LVM or LVM-thin storage options? Thanks!

Hi @mhentrich .

You can use either iSCSI or FC. The resulting view from PVE perspective is the same.

You are correct that you would present LUNs, or single large LUN, to your hosts. You would then use LVM, not LVM-thin. You will be able to use the PVE9 tech-preview functionality called snapshot-as-volume-chain

Thanks, are any of these options available in the GUI?
