"local-lvm" can only store VMs/LXCs. "local" can only store ISOs/Backups/Snippets/Templates as well as your root-filesystem of the PVE OS and all other files. So it really depends on what you want and how much of it you want to store on that...
It's a home lab and I already have messed up many times. PBS has been serving me great and anything lost in between backups I am willing to risk.
Performance wise, do you prefer a mirrored 2TB over 2TB with SLOG? Because it was my understanding...
They are all proper Optane drives. No hybrid nonsense. I own several, but I have not found the 16gb useful for anything else than as a dedicated Proxmox OS drive, due to its limited size. That's also why I proposed the 58gb drive as slog, and not...
@AkUsP
1) MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher) https://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/
A basic one.
For switches, routers [edit: and network printers] etc.: you can graph (and monitor for values exceeding thresholds) any data which a device can show with...
The 16GB Optane might be useful as a SLOG or a special device (but the redundancy must at least match the data redundancy).
I fear that the 58GB and especially the 375GB might be hybrid drives with 2 PCIe lanes connected to a small Optane and...
Hi everyone,
thanks a lot for the detailed feedback and for digging into this further.
We now have two full backup days completed with:
iscsi_tcp.recv_from_iscsi_q=Y
enabled, and so far we have not seen any of the previous iSCSI NOP timeout...
Ok @huganega , I think we've figured this out. It takes a combination of things to trigger:
- A link that's "fast" (i.e., 25GbE) relative to your CPU (Skylake or Cascade Lake)
- A backup load running at full queue depth
- An array that doesn't...
@bbgeek17 no disagreement. I was simply pointing out that the premise that a full node fence is required isnt necessarily true for the proposed solution to work. I'm not suggesting its easy, not fraught with gaping holes, probably too slow to be...

That's easy: get two "Enterprise class" NVMe with PLP. (But prepare for a heart attack while looking up prices.)
Then run everything on this single mirrored vdev - on ZFS of course. You asked for "best performance" - and personally I do always...
In other words: what you have sucks, get what I have...
Back to making due with what I have. I have 2 m.2 slots, how can I get the best performance out of that?
Hi,
I don't known why users want to use pre-up,postup....
you can simply use
iface enp130s0f0 in manual
......
mtu 9000
iface bond2 inet static
....
mtu 9000
Time based six digits? The "usual problem" is to have a different time on the host and on the device calculating the current TOTP.
Please verify both clocks are only apart a few seconds. The safe range is a single digit difference, 30 seconds...
Hi Ali-dev,
That corrected-error burst plus a 3-5 second link flap on both ports is a very recognizable i226-V behaviour on consumer mini PC boards. A few things worth trying, in order:
1. Don't jump to pci=noaer yet. Corrected AER errors are...
Hi Mike,
It's a good idea, but it's worth noting that discard has a rough history. SATA TRIM often didn't guarantee zeros, a bunch of drives corrupted data on queued TRIM and are still on the kernel blacklist, and arrays have been all over the...
