Today we are really excited to celebrate 20 years of Proxmox Server Solutions. When Dietmar and I founded Proxmox 20 years ago, our vision was clear: to create efficient and easy-to-manage Linux software solutions for everyone. Looking back, it's...
Thanks Aaron, thanks Longer,
That's exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for when I posted.
PVE Mirror now has its own subsection now under Related Proxmox software, next to PBS, PMG and PDM. I also added a line to the history section...
Ok, I'm a sucker for weird things like this... I've got a couple of systems I can check too..
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630 v3 @ 2.40GHz
Linux version 7.0.14-17-pve (build@proxmox) (gcc (Debian 14.2.0-19) 14.2.0, GNU ld (GNU...
Thank you for the speedy reply. I did not even think about the cloning approach and I will give that a try.
Yes, I do make daily backups and I also do an annual data recovery exercise (and an unprompted one last year due to ransomware ...).
You...
Hi @mf_2
thanks for posting on the forum!
For reference on the "maybe" of pve8to9:

Hi Jonas,
when I set it to 5.1 I get this after the loading screen instead of the lock screen:
As this is my domain controller I am messing with, I never dared to go past it and just reverted back to v4.1. How do I avoid this screen or is it...
Hi Werner,
Thanks for the confirmation.
I think this points squarely at Linux kernel behavior, not the array or the fabric. Slow storage makes it a lot easier to hit, but it isn't the cause, IMHO.
We have filed it in our dev queue for tracking...
In was thinking about doing the same, but even the smallest Hetzner SX storage server was way more performant, for comparable pricing in my usecase. Define the pool as ZFS RAID with HDDs to your needs and use the remaining SSD storage beside PBS...

I found a solution for the other nodes to recognize the LVM of the LUN without having to restart the node.
The node that does not recognize this lvm must be able to recognize the disk, lsblk. In my case is sdc

Nice idea, but building a cluster on a volatile link with a third party VPN solution as an external SPOF is a very good recipe for disaster. If you leave out the clustering, it's a nice solution.
But only if you don't need clustering for MySQL/MariaDB/Postgres. It never will fail to amaze me, that people are willing to accept this from a "enterprise backup" software. If however you need application aware stuff for MS SQL/AD a potential...
Thanks for this!
I have migrated several non-UEFI Server 2019/2022 without needing safemode, but today moved my first Server 2025 (with UEFI) and I could not get it to boot while switching from VMware PVSCSI to VirtIO SCSI (even with first drive...
Nochmal.
