Hello, everyone! I have been using Proxmox on my Dell R630 for some time now, and recently, I needed more performance out of it, so I upgraded it from a single CPU to two. So far, everything seems to run and work fine, but even when assigned and...
Best way would probably either be:
1.) AMD fixing the reset mechanism. Which they probably won't due to this being a Consumer GPU.
2.) Someone adding a PCI subsystem quirk for the card (Linux kernel code), as a workaround attempt.
Sure.
VEEAM supports PVE, so PVE backups are supported by VEEAM.
PBS supports PVE, so PVE backups to PVS are supported by Proxmox.
Support means that someone will pick up the phone or give you the option to write a ticket.
As a rule of thumb...
Empathy, which I think comes after the problem, might improve the tone of the discussion here. But how could Proxmox change things to prevent people from upgrading before the problems start? I feel like going from one major release to the next...
It's probably this one: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/proxmox-virtual-environment-security-advisories.149331/page-4#post-867929 (it's not a zero-day but it's game over anyway)
What do people think would help to improve the upgrade process...
Unfortunately i need the override otherwise all the VFs go in one group. It's consumer hardware, so the CPU root port doesn't have ACS. With raw devices, I don't think I can migrate VMs between nodes, right?

If you were on 7.0 you would be affected but honestly that’s irrelevant. The most important lesson from this is that port 8006 should have a firewall in front of it. Pretty much all other hypervisors have had a vulnerability like that and that’s...
A little more empathy from the community would be helpful. Sometimes we get too comfortable and make comments like some of those we've seen in this thread over the past two days. Is there already a "frontline" group that updates and documents the...

I have 4 PVE nodes (Lenovo M920q's) with Intel X710-DA2's. I want to pass through one of the SR-IOV VFs to pfsense so it can handle VLANs, etc. Unfortunately, on reboots, the IOMMU groups seem to change. It's not consistent, either, and I'm not...
Not sure what I should be getting out of that thread since its 6 pages long with a lot of back and forth.
I've tried those fixes at some point with no luck (like many others I'm seeing), but other than the fact that its an e1000...
You're not the first with this. There is already https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7651 for PDM and I think there is another open bug for PVE, but unfortunately I can't find it.
To have PVE "make more noise about that issue" you may...
Thanks for the reply, however I had to use the following rules to make it work:
ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="pci", ENV{PCI_SLOT_NAME}=="0000:01:00.0", ATTR{driver_override}="vfio-pci"
ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="pci"...
