Did you, by chance, ever find a solution for the issues you encountered? There have been some additional reports cropping up regarding this NIC model lately. I looked at the changelogs for the broadcom drivers as well, but couldn't find any...

Thank you both for your replies! I did try the flags=-nested-virt but it didn't help. Regarding kernel and qemu versions, I've downgraded from kernel 7 to 6.17 -> VM not booting Downgraded pve-qemu-vm from 11 to 10 -> still not booting I just...

Hi Fabian, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. After a thorough investigation, we found out that one (1) of the cores in our Intel Xeon Gold 6154 CPU was faulty, causing the unexpected reboots.

could you double check and post your network configuration/setup, including the switch config? in particular of the two "problematic" nodes? this looks like a network misconfiguration problem, though the logs don't give a clear indication *what*...

I would recommend trying out the `VirtIO (paravirtualized)` Model for your network card instead of the `Intel E1000` and see if that resolves your issue. For the VirtIO Model to work you will need to install additional drivers. The best way to...

It's BGP unnumbered in particular, it can be used as underlay and works really well with Wireguard as well, or just for announcing routes from EVPN VRFs. It slotted really well into the existing fabrics and in conjunction with upcoming features...

Hi Community, although officially not supported or best practice I know that many people (like me) are running PBS in a VM on a Synology NAS for their backups of their homelabs. I had zero issues with this in the last 18 months. Two days ago a...

I use Proxmox in my home-lab, mostly for fun now, since I've retired. I did want to use it to replace a bigger (Redhat) oVirt infra I was operating in a corporate lab, but that went into the cloud instead, and I left early. So no, it's not very...

/etc/pve is synced across the cluster. the PAM logins are not. the PVE realm is, but that is just for authentication over the API, not for local logins.

I have never tried HDDs + L2ARC SSD for PBS datastore. With that hardware I'd go for HDDs + svdev SSD because L2ARC is optimized for read workloads while PBS also heavily benefits from fast writes.
  • J
Of course not :) They are bottom of the barrel trash SSDs! Look at the price. I use it as a boot disk. Which is mirrored with another drive. When using a drive, I suspect a firmware issue leading to total failure and plan my vdevs accordingly...

I tried to reproduce this issue on my test cluster but did not succeed. Did you change the password in the Web UI or did you use passwd command? Do you see any warning/error logs in journalctl
